Firstly, congratulations!! You’re here because you’ve planned your wedding and the big day is nearly upon us, how exciting! While the majority of tasks have been analyzed (over and over and over, no doubt!) There are still a few tasks to complete before the big day. In this blog we’re breaking down the top things to do a month before your wedding day to help keep you sane and prevent you from forgetting one of those all important last minute details, so let's dive right in!
1. Get your final headcount
It’s important to let your caterer and venue supplier know a final figure, so it’s super important tol double check how many people are actually coming to your wedding dinner, so chase up those RSVPs!
2. Go for your last dress fitting
While you may be super busy with other final tasks before the big day, scheduling in a final dress fitting is super important, this fitting allows you to make the final touches to your bridal look and ensure any alterations made are perfect! Pro Tip: Don’t forget to wear your heels!
3. Book your final beauty appointments
Now is the time to book those final beauty appointments, from hair & makeup to mani, pedi, massages and spray tans, there’s a lot to consider so be sure to get booking those appointments the month before your big day!
4. Chat with all your suppliers
About two weeks before the wedding, phone all your suppliers and check in with them. Confirm arrival times, what they need to bring and pay everyone ahead of time. The last thing you want to do on your wedding day is be carrying envelopes of cash to distribute to suppliers!
5. Create a wedding day timeline
This is one of our favourite tips as it really helps the couple to stay focused, it’s so easy to get swept away in the excitement of the big day and forget something super important! Your wedding day timeline should include all the events happening on the day, so be as detailed as you can. Don’t forget to schedule in time for those all important photos! You can check out some of our blogs on creating wedding day timelines here, and wedding morning timelines here!
6. Pack an emergency kit
This one is super important, no matter how prepared you are, things happen, so it pays off to be prepared! About a month before your wedding, create a wedding day emergency kit in case of emergencies, you’ll thank us later!
7. Create a seating chart
Now that those all important final RSVPs are in, you can start working on your seating chart! We always recommend couples create a seating chart that encourages your families to mingle and get to know each other more, after all you're all going to be one big family after your special day!
8. Finalise wedding favours
Whether you are arranging the favours yourselves or enlisting the help of a supplier, a month prior to the wedding is a great time to put together all the final details. Add ribbons and labels to create a more personalised feel!
9. Order wedding programmes
Speak with your stationery supplier to get a batch of wedding programmes designed and printed before the big day!
10. Send your song list to the band and DJ
We have no doubt that you’ve enlisted the best of the best when it comes to wedding day entertainment (cough cough!). It’s always a good idea to check in with your band and DJ and make sure you’re all on the same page when it comes to what songs to play (and of course, what not to play!).
